BS in Textile Design (BS-TD)


The BS-Textile Design at ILMA University provides an in-depth understanding of the creation and functional utilization of various textiles. This is closely associated with the functionality of the fashion industry and focuses on the creation and design of different types of fabrics. The textile centred program offers instruction on designing and developing textile sculptures, surface textiles or constructed textiles.
Following are the objectives of the program:
  • Impart knowledge about the history of textiles as well as the theoretical concepts of aesthetics and touch that underlay the field
  • Provide the information on foundations, know-how and confidence to work across any area in design
  • Provide hands-on and involves several hours spent in studio courses
  • Complete practical work with the various materials and components that make up textiles such as knits, weaves, silks, leathers and colour dyes
  • Equip with skills across a wide spectrum of design from illustration, to print, knit, product and computer-aided design
