ILMA Business Case Competition 2022

The aim of ILMA Business Case Competition 2022 is to connect students and companies in solving real-life challenges. By organizing business case competitions, we have built a platform for students across Pakistan to exercise their current skill sets while simultaneously gaining new inspiration and expanding their toolboxes. In everything that we do, we aim to provide lifetime experiences. Case studies provide a framework for problem-solving, as they enable students to explore, understand and analyze situations with which they may not have had first-hand experience. Analyzing cases allows students to apply the concepts and theory that they have been learning, and to practice the critical thinking and problem-solving skills that they have been developing in their academic careers.

Do you have Questions?

  • Teams of 5 students have to come up with a solution to a real-life business case
  • The competition comprises one round in which students will present their cases, judges from corporate and academia will evaluate their cases, and the 3 best cases will be selected and awarded.
  • All undergraduate and graduate students from all over Pakistan are eligible to participate and can form teams across universities.
  • Teams are eligible to participate if a faculty advisor at their university supports them.
  • Every university can participate through multiple teams
  • A fee of PKR 6000 will be charged from each team.
  • Each section should be written in the parlance of the intended audience. Moreover, it should contain enough information to help decision-making.

  • The following rules are subject to faculty review each year. Non-compliance with any of the rules may result in disqualification.

  • Presentation time: 15 minutes, sharp.
  • Time signals will be shown to the presenters at the 10, 5, 2 & 1-minute marks.
  • If a presentation is not finished in time, it may weigh negatively into the judges’ evaluation. Question and Answer period: 15 minutes. Time signals will be shown to the presenters and judges at the 2 & 1-minute marks.
  • All team members are expected to participate in the presentation in fairly equal amounts of time.
  • Presentations have to be entirely based on PowerPoint slides. No material other than their slides and handouts to the judges may be used in their presentations. For example, teams are not permitted to show their excel sheets or browser web pages in their presentations or questions and answer period.

    Business Case Competition is a platform of social collaboration, professional and academic competition, generating lifetime experiences for participants, audiences, juries, and partners a truly unique tradition in a new exciting format.

    The teams will be challenged in assessing the real-life issues businesses are facing today, analyzing available information, crafting solutions, and defending their recommendations in front of a jury of high-level business leaders.
